Accommodation: Participants will be staying in apartments on the mountains overlooking the town of Hemsedal. Each apartment can accommodate eight people, with two people sharing a room and includes a full kitchen, a dining area, a sitting area and two bathrooms.

Meals: The trip fee is based upon bed and breakast. Breakfast will be provided each morning. Hiking snacks and lunch supplies will be available at the local grocery store. For dinner, participants can choose to dine in town or purchase their own groceries and prepare dinner in their apartments.

Transportation: To maintain the flexibility and informal atmosphere desired for such a group, transportation during the trip is via rental car and there will be volunteer drivers within the party who will be acting as agents for the other group members, and as such are not retained for hire or reward. They are NOT professional drivers but other trip participants like you; therefore, you will be handling your own baggage. Please note no charge over and above the car rental, which is disbursed in full to the volunteer drivers who hire the vehicles, is included in the overall cost of the trip.

Fees: All entry and/or guide fees at visited sites will be included.

We will pick up participants at Oslo Gardermoen Airport at midday on September 14th and return them to the airport at the end of the trip on the evening of September 22nd. We suggest staying overnight at a hotel near the airport and booking a return flight for September 23rd. During our time in Norway, we will have a flexible itinerary, as the weather is variable. We plan to hike in the Hemsedal area and farther afield, depending on weather conditions. We will see the fjords and the Josteldalsbreen Glacier, which is the largest glacier in Continental Europe. We will take a fjord cruise out to an extraordinarily beautiful hike, followed by a return cruise in the evening. We will also visit the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, as well as other sites, depending on the weather and the number of rest days we take.
